Needlework for Klokkestrenger

Before you begin a project, it would be a good idea to get out your graph paper and draw out the pattern.  It doesn’t matter which of the three stitches you use.  The difference will be the number of holes in a square of your fabric canvas you need to use.   
If you choose to do different colors, you can assign  each color with a different symbol.
The uff da bell pull has solid squares , circles, and Xs to designate colors.  The background is all white.
On the other 2 graphed designs, I hadn’t designated  colors yet.
Or, as in another example, just color the squares.  (I find that is less confusing.)
Finally, attaching the photo next to the symboled graphed design is the best of both worlds.
The most important direction is to always BEGIN IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR DESIGN.

Always begin in the middle of your design.

These tapestry needles were purchased from JoAnns fabrics.  Notice the large eye for the wool yarn. The tapestry needle is pointing to the center square of the design.  You will always begin at the center if every design.

The 2nd picture shows how I keep track of the stitches I have already completed but using a yellow highligjter.
I made this one three or four years ago.    My stitches are consistent but I sequenced the stitches a bit different.  My last stitch goes from upper right diagonal to bottom left.  That is no problem as long as all stitches do that.
The blues on this are great. The design is simple but elegant. This bell pull would be easy to recreate because it is just a straight stitch. I found this one and the two below on Facebook.
